Mix & Mingle Craft Fair & Potluck

Today is a special day for Gypsy Treasures. It is our first ever Mix & Mingle Craft Fair & Potluck. This is something that Lisa Marie has had a vision of for quite some time. To bring a community of artists, eccentrics, crafters and spiritual people together to show their creativity, break bread and maybe even make a little bit of money for everyone. We're looking forward to this growing over Spring and Summer and becoming a great little niche in Long Beach. If you're out and about or around Broadway, please stop by to check out some cool stuff, meet some neat people and eat a little food. We look forward to seeing you!

Friday the 13th is one of the most superstitious holidays out there. There is even an actual name for the phobia surrounding it--Paraskevidekatriaphobics. Is that not a bit crazy or what? Regardless, you might as well make sure you are cautious and don't walk under any ladders, let a black cat cross in front of you, open an umbrella inside, put a hat on a bed or step on any cracks. Because, you know what that means? Oh yes! You'll break your mama's back! So, Happy Friday the 13th!!! Come and check out some of our new stuff at Gypsy Treasures! We got some cool belt buckles!

National Hobby Month

Gypsy Treasures is coming together more and more. The Mix & Mingle will be on 1/22 @ 11am. There will be food and great vendors. We're going to have art, jewelry, crafty stuff, a guy cutting up t-shirts and even a tarot card reader!!!! Our next art show, "Cowboys & Indians" will be on 2/18. It's also Switchblade Stiletto's 10th Anniversary Party! This will be one you don't want to miss. Remember, we donate part of the proceeds from the art sold too!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful day we're having in Southern California. I've learned to just go with the flow. Seasons just might be a thing of the past. So, on this early January day where the temperature will probably hit the low to mid 70's, I smile. Feast of Kore

So, yesterday was the celebration of Kore and today is the feast. This is the day of the Twelfth Night of legends and fairytales. On this day, the Celts celebrated the triple goddess of fate, the givers of good and bad, the weavers of tales and destinies, the Morrigan. It the tales, a turning point enables good to triumph over evil. Wow, Kore is an interesting goddess. If you're looking to know more about goddesses, tarot or just want to buy a new shirt, come on down to Gypsy Treasures today. Jessica will be there from 12p-6pm.

Kore's Day

Today is the day of the Divine Maiden, she who grows everything above ground. She is a Greek goddess whom women worshipped by adorning her statue with beautiful jewels. They'd, then, carry her around the Mediterranean and the Near East, to protect themselves from evil. We don't have a statue of Kore but we do have some other great ones down at Gypsy Treasures. If you're looking for something to add to your garden or home, come and check us out. We're open at 12pm today!

Mix And Mingle

In case you don't know, our first ever Mix & Mingle Potluck/Craft Fair is coming up on January 22nd @ 12pm. I hope you stop by. There will be food and crafts. The community in Long Beach is so amazing and this is the perfect place to get to know other people that are possibly on the same trip as you are. If not, come and eat and buy some stuff. Inanna's Day; Nativity of the Lady

Inanna is the evening star and with her birth, we celebrate the birth of light. She is a goddess of great power over lovers and cities. Pray to her in regards to those situations and she will guide you. Stay Healthy in the New Year

It seems like a whole lot of us have some sort of stomach virus or flu bug right now. I suppose it's a "'Tis the Season" sort of thing. Regardless, make sure that you're taking your vitamin C, eating healthy, connecting spiritually and getting whatever kind of exercise you can. We have some cool books on spirituality, so why don't you do some walking and come down to our store today to check it out. We'll have short hours but we will be open at 12pm today.

Good morning to all of you on the first day of 2012. Some of you are already up, some are just heading to bed. Either way, I hope your last night was spent the way you wanted. Now, it's a new year, a clean slate, a fresh start. So, why not make it that way. Take chances. Do something you've never done before. Try something new. Fall in love. Change your priorities. Take a trip. Stop eating meat. Read a book. Fuck, write one. Visit Big Sur. Take real photos. Call an old friend. Forgive someone. Take a long ride, with the windows down and the music real loud. Feel the sun on your face. Listen to the birds chirp. Learn an instrument or a language. Date someone out of your comfort zone. Believe in something you find preposterous. Make a claim. Take a stand. Sell. Sell. Sell.
