New Beginnings

The New Year usually consists of shutting the door on the past in hopes of not re-creating it in the forthcoming year. It signifies an actual date when the whole world can come together and throw out the garbage, internally and externally and say never again. That is a lot of strong energy. Putting it to good use is a very powerful force. Following your heart is another strong force. So, with this New Year biting at our heels, let's spread the love and be true to ourselves. And, come to Gypsy Treasures!!! We'll be open today and tomorrow! Happy New Year!

Resolutions, anyone?

So, the new year is upon us. We have just a few more days before we essentially receive a clean slate to start anew. What does this really mean though? I mean, I have tried to clean the slate and start fresh but it seems that old habits, whether they breathe or not, alway seem to follow me, even after the New Year. So, this new year, I think I'm going to honor the tradition of making resolutions by writing them down and actually sticking with them. In the mean time, I'm going to get the last of my shopping buzz out of me. You should too!!!!  Come check out some of our cool new eagles and good luck on those resolutions!

The Pendleton Woolen Mills Company was started by Thomas Kay in 1924. The women's line was then introduced in 1949. Pendleton's have become a staple for all sorts: bikers, vatos, rockabillies and just regular ol' grandpas. You can probably find some great ones in the back of your gramp's closet. On days like today, this is the perfect way to stay warm whether you wear it on its own, put it under a jacket or throw a vest over it.

Staying Present

Not to get ahead of ourselves because we believe in staying in the moment, but in one year from today according to the Mayan calendar, life on planet Earth as we know it will cease to exist and a new cycle will be reborn. Those are some pretty heavy thoughts. So, today, I'm thinking of practicing the art of being present, right here, right now in my shoes. When I'm out in the world, I'm going to notice the sky, the way the trees move in the breeze and the sound of the ocean waves.  Here's a little something at our shop for your viewing pleasures. We have cool books on all kinds of spiritual stuff, not to mention tarot cards. Come on down and check us out for some last minute shopping. We get new stuff all the time.

Today We Celebrate the Winter Solstice

Late dawn. Early sunset. Short day. Long night. Today marks the longest night and the shortest day. After today, days will become longer as they reach for the Summer Solstice. Look at your noontime shadow. It's the longest of the year.

Welcome to Gypsy Treasures

Here are some of our cool new leather goods. We have wallets, coin purses, shave kits and briefcases that can be used for your laptop. These are the coolest for presents or just if you want to treat yourself. We have all colors. Come and check them out!
